If HFSS is hanging on a blank screen in Linux, one possible cause could be the presence of '/' characters in the project name. In Linux, the '/' character is a path delimiter, which is not the case in Windows. Removing these characters from the project name has been known to resolve the issue. This was discussed in a forum post titled "Issue with HFSS on Linux Hanging During Simulation Setup".

Additionally, if you are running distributed memory simulations, ensure that HFSS is installed in the same directory on all machines in the cluster, the cluster is uniform (e.g., all Linux machines), the version of the third-party MPI software is identical and supported on all machines, and that all machines can be reached on the network. These troubleshooting steps are detailed in the documentation "Troubleshooting for Distributed Memory Simulations"
