I create a map file (not with boundary_ale_mapping) and tried changing the precision with no effect on the error.
I have found a workaround:
When writing the map file, have "map=mapfile map1=mapfile1".
Then when reading the map file, also place "map=mapfile map1=mapfile1" in the command.
I have seen this circumvent this apparent bug.
