Be careful with the words you use - we need to be very careful with definitions to avoid confusion. 

A coupled wall (wall & wall shadow) will pass heat. An interface pair with wall settings will also pass heat.  Look very carefully at the temperature near the wall; do you have enough mesh to pick up the boundary layer and are you looking at a sensible temperature scale?
