Why are you creating springs at each node between two surfaces?  Are you trying to model a gasket?  There is a Gasket Material you can assign to a solid body that goes between two surfaces. The Gasket body material model has the pressure-displacement curve for the gasket material. You just mesh a single layer of elements through the thickness of the gasket and apply the gasket material model and you have a model similar to what you are doing, but with a lot less work.

A benefit of the Gasket model over using 20 spring elements is that the Pressure-Displacement curve in the gasket model can be nonlinear. Typically the pressure goes up exponentially as the displacement increases.
