SubscriberI'm trying to run a steady-state hypersonic flow simulation over a wedge airfoil. After running few iterations Fluent crashes with this error - Cortex received a fatal signal (SEGMENTATION VIOLATION)
I'm running the simulation on a laptop with Intel i5 processors having 2 cores and 4 logical processors & 8 GB RAM. Also, the SSD is having 54GB of free space.
My mesh size is 5mm coarse and 2.5 to 1.5mm fine mesh near walls. The inflation layer has an initial cell height of 0.006mm and no. of layers are 10. I've generated 1.78 million cells.
Model setup - I'm using k-w SST model with free stream mach no. 7 & ambient parameters as p = 1197Pa, T = 226.51K, rho=0.018 kg/m3.
I request to kindly help me out with this issue

AdministratorHello,nSegmentation faults usually occur when Fluent is attempting to access a memory when it does not exist. Is your simulation might be accessing an invalid memory? Are you using a UDF in your simulation? nKarthiknnApril 22, 2021 at 10:25 amammar_ghori23
SubscriberThanks, I've fixed it by reinstalling the ANSYS softwarennApril 22, 2021 at 10:25 amammar_ghori23
