I am doing CHT analysis on exhaust port the velocity is not constant along the pipe. So what should be the velocity and characteristic length to be considered for calculating y+?n

Hello Abubakar, nSince you mention that the flow is through a pipe, I would perhaps use the pipe diameter as the characteristic length. As for the velocity, perhaps average velocity on the exit plane is a good starting point. nThanks,nKalyann

You just need to use an eligible relationship for skin friction which is valid for internal flows if you have that.Tips & Tricks: Estimating the First Cell Height for correct Y+ | Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Blog ? LEAP Australia & New Zealandn
