Hi, how does Fluent calculate the lenght of vectors projected on a plane (in particular, a plane perpendicular to the x axis)?n

Hello,nIf I understand your question correctly, you should be able to find your answer in the following link. nBasically, Fluent is displaying only the vector components in the plane of the surface selected for display. If this does not answer your question, please let me know with a few screenshots of exactly what you are looking for.nKarthikn

Ok, and the lenght of the vectors (which is not the same everywhere if I don't select fixed lenght) how is it calculated by Fluent? Based on velocity magnitude or based on the vector components?n

Ah...gotcha! nBy default, one vector is drawn at the center of each cell (or at the center of each facet of a data surface) and its length and color is based on the velocity magnitude at that cell center. Remember, this is always cell center data that Fluent plots.nKarthikn
