SubscriberI am doing CFD on half of a Formula SAE car using a symmetry condition on the midplane (to reduce solving time) in order to obtain the output parameters of lift and drag forces and coefficients. I am aware that CL and CD would be the same for both the half and full car. However, it would make sense that lift and drag forces on this half-car model (with half of the area) would need to be multiplied by 2 to get the forces on the full car. My confusion is, does Ansys take the symmetry condition into account and give you lift and drag forces on what would be the full model? Or does it give me forces on the half model and I should double them?n -

SubscriberIn the symmetry boundary conditions, the forces calculated are only on the simulated section. n
