SubscriberHi All,
I had to upgrade Ansys from 18.1 to 19.2. A model that I used to run in the older version is now not working, with the impossibility to apply any kind of acoustic load. I was using the ACT Acoustics extension with the older version, and I installed it in the newer one as well.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Forum ModeratorWhich version of ACT were you using with 18.1 and which version are you using with 19.2? I am asking this because the ACT are version specific.nAlso, can you start a model from scratch in 19.2?n-AniketnHow to access Ansys help linksnGuidelines for Posting on Ansys Learning ForumnFebruary 9, 2021 at 6:48 pmMarioR94
SubscriberThank you for the answer Aniket,nnThe model was originally built with Ansys 18.1 and ACT Acoustics v180.1, while now I'm trying to run it on Ansys 19.2 with ACT Acoustics v192.2 (the last apparently). However, I managed to find a machine having Ansys 18.1 were I installed the last version of ACT Acoustics (v192.2) and it works. So the version of ACT shouldn't be an issue.nI started a model from scratch in 19.2 (Harmonic Response) and yet I cannot apply any acoustic load (as the Mass Source), while the Surface Body is correctly recognized.nI'm wondering if it has to be with something regarding the way I import the geometry: it's designed in another software, then exported as .igis, imported and with Design Modeler I make sure that all the bodies belong to the same part.nFebruary 10, 2021 at 8:24 amErik Kostson
Ansys EmployeeIn 19.2 there are inbuilt acoustics, we would recommend using that , since the ACT extensions are not further developed and supported.nnOf course the native acoustics are developed and supported, so use that in the future.nnAlso the latest release is 2021 R1, which has many improvements compared to older releases (e.g., release 19).nnAll the bestnnEriknFebruary 10, 2021 at 3:00 pmMarioR94
SubscriberThank you Erik.nI know about the new inbuilt acoustics function but they work in a completely different way and I was looking for something more immediate without the need to rebuild the model from zero. Apparently that's just not possible so I will try to get the last release and start working directly on it.nMany thanksnMarionFebruary 10, 2021 at 5:08 pmErik Kostson
Ansys EmployeeI think that is the best way to go forward in the long run- all the best.nnEriknViewing 5 reply threads- The topic ‘Acoustic Analysis in Ansys 19.2 (from Model defined with 18.1)’ is closed to new replies.
