SubscriberHi,
I'm performing 3D XFEM crack growth, but several errors like:
 *** WARNING ***     Â
For cgrow id 1, the crack segment with crack id 1 will not propagate  Â
from the current crack tip element 51 into the element 55 since this  Â
 element is already cracked. Â
are displayed (figures attached below), to end up with the last one:
 *** ERROR ***             Â
Solution not converged at time 1.51992187 (load step 1 substep 9).   Â
 Run terminated. Â

Forum ModeratornnCan you try reducing the RSWEEP values?.Regards,nAshish KhemkanJanuary 30, 2021 at 8:18 pmGio
SubscriberHi @akhemka ,nThank you for your reply, nok, but changing the sweep angles (for instance from RSWEEP,100,-90,90 to ...100,-40,40) should I expect a different crack path, isn'it?nJust to be sure if a subsequent crack path check is necessary.nThanks again,nRegardsFebruary 1, 2021 at 7:33 amAshish Khemka
Forum ModeratornnYes, that may reduce the sweep angle but we have seen in a case that it helped.nnRegards,nAshish KhemkanViewing 3 reply threads- The topic ‘XFEM CRACK GROWTH ERRORS/NON-CONVERGENCE’ is closed to new replies.
