SubscriberHello, I've installed R2020 student version remotely on another machine. I built a rigid dynamics simulation but when I click solve it almost immediately says 'fail to submit to server'. I've made the same machine the server but I can't see any license manager in the start menu. I wonder if it failed to install that, due to a firewall or something. Any help much appreciated, thank you.n -

Forum ModeratorArrayThis error isn't related to a license. ANSYS Student doesn't run with a license manager. Are you trying to solve this from one machine over to another?.As the message states, See Solution Information, which may contain more details. If you right click on Solution and Open Solver Files Directory, is there a .out file? If so, please share the full contents.n -

SubscriberThanks for the reply. No, there's no .out file. No, I'm accessing the computer remotely but I'm trying to solve the model on the same machine where it's running it. -

Forum ModeratorCould you try disabling your firewall to see if there is any difference? You can disconnect from the internet if you'd rather not disable while online. Your license doesn't require a network connection.n -

SubscriberI'm not able to disable the firewall due to it being a university network, but I tried a simple static structural analysis and that worked. But for the original complicated model, the static analysis says I've exceeded the numerical problem size limits. When I try the simple model in Rigid Dynamics, a message says that the Firewall has blocked some features of Ans.Common.ContactServer. It later said that partial results at some points had been solved. So I think I'll need to get round the Firewall issue and/or simplify my model. At least by simplifying it I've had more helpful error messages rather than just 'failed to submit to solver'! Thanks for your help anyway.n -

Forum ModeratorThe numerical limits error is covered elsewhere on here; you've exceeded the cell count available in Student. n
