I am trying to get the moment reaction in a solid. I created a surface at that location. I also added a coordinate system "CS Centroidal BC Moment -Midlength"at centroid of that solid member. In the details tab, for the "Orientation" i set it to "CS Centroidal BC Moment -Midlength" and for "Summation", i selected "Orientation System". Is the procedure correct? for some reason the moment double head arrow displays way above the solid member( green) in second picture. I am not sure why.

Ansys EmployeeBy default, Mechanical is using a summation point for the moment calculation that represents the centroid of the original undeformed geometry. That is what you are seeing.nThe workaround is to add in a new coordinate system at the location of the centroid of the final deformed geometry. nWhen you probe the moment, specify the ?Summation? in Details Window of Moment Reaction as 'Orientation System' and point to that newly defined coordinate system.January 14, 2021 at 8:26 pmSam Fares
