SubscriberDear Ansys Forum,nCurrently I am doing a parameter Study where I am varying the geometry of my model with a fixed load. This leads the structure to yield in some cases. I need data from the linear behaviour of the part, therefore I wish to vary the load depending on how large the thickness of the part is. My force is applied over many timesteps, so I have to vary the load using an APDL script. My problem ends up similar to this /forum/discussion/6141/how-to-parametrize-tabular-data.nBecause my geometry varies I can't just copy the APDL from the input file, because my mesh varies too. I wish to apply a force to a named selection (A surface).nI thought I could just donSFE,APPLY_LOAD,3,pres,1,%FORCE_Z%nwhere APPLY_LOADis my named selection. But the solver outputs Invalid element number = 0. The SFE command is ignored.. I am not quite sure how I should proceed.n -

Forum ModeratornnCan you please check the value of the parameter APPLY_LOAD? The message above indicates it's value =0.nnRegards,nAshish Khemkan -

SubscribernnFor some reason the post was gone after I posted it, so I asked the question here /forum/discussion/comment/100887#Comment_100887 and got an answer to my problem. Thank you!nnRegardsn
