I recently installed Ansys Student Version and when i try to run the APDL launcher and click on the run button, the command window pops up and shows me the error as Check Firewall, even though all my firewalls are down. Please Help me.

You are most likely connected to VPN. nDo the following: nnSTOP your local License Manager nEdit the ansyslmd.lic file under the C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\Licensing\license_files directory and change the hostname to the loopback  (127.0.0.7 ):nfrom nSERVER DESKTOP-H5PIUV5 FLEXID 1055nTO nSERVER 127.0.0.1 FLEXID 1055nSave the license file. Restart the ANSYS LMnnEdit the ansyslmd.ini file and set the same information there and add the following variables (It should look like the following): nSERVER=1055@127.0.0.1nANSYSLI_SERVERS=2325@127.0.0.1nANSYSLI_TIMEOUT_FLEXLM=15nANSYSLI_FLEXLM_TIMEOUT_ENV=15000000nnTest the application again. nPlease let us know if this helps.n

I have the same problem, but instructions didn't help.n1) I cannot find that ansyslmd.lic filen2) I am not sure I have License manager in student version. Probably just cannot find itnn

Guess, I found the license manager.nMaybe this explains a bit my first problem.n
