SubscriberHello everybody,
I try to conduct 2 way FSI simulation coupling FLUENT and Mechanical with System Coupling. I managed to run the whole calculation without errors, however when the coupling finishes Ansys stays busy and I cannot go further to postprocessing my results. It just seems that updating the project when the calculations finish takes forever. On the screenshot you can see that it has already been 20 minutes since the 'Solution Information' print that the coupling is over and now its shuting down. I waited for more than hour and it stayed the same.
Does anybody know what may be the cause for this? Since there is no error message, it's really hard to figure out what is the problem.
PS. I didn't encounter this problem while doing 2-way-fsi tutorial with oscilating plate from Ansys documentation - everything was fine there

Forum ModeratorAre there any active processes with cpu load? How are you for disc space (working folder and scratch)? nNovember 17, 2020 at 10:03 ammarcinstopyra
SubscriberAs you can see on screenshot, after system coupling shut down, there is just a little bit of activity on CPU from Ansys.n
I am not sure what you meant by checking my working folder and scratch (I've made sure there are no special signs nor spaces in the path if that is what you asked) . I tried to change the location for saving temporary files to different folder but it didn't solve the problem. Also in solution information of system coupling I can see full output from Fluid solver and no output from Structural solver (2nd screen) . However I opened the structural solver output in ./project_files/dp0 and everthing seemed ok there. n

Ansys EmployeeHi,nI recommend trying to run System Coupling outside of Workbench with the System Coupling GUI or Command Line Interface. Details for how to do this are available in the following tutorial: https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v202/en/sysc_tut/sysc_tut_oscplate_cli_fluent.htmlnStevenViewing 3 reply threads- The topic ‘System Coupling 2-way FSI does not end’ is closed to new replies.
