SubscriberI am doing my thesis on the analysis of the dust particles over the railway wagon. So, I need simulate the flow over the wagon. In the discrete phase i need to put the total mass flow rate. to do the calculation of the flow rate we need density of the phase. I have concentration of 150 micro-gram per cubic meter. And the velocity of the flow is the 20m/s and the area of the surface inlet is the 800 meter square. So, my question is that to calculate the mass flow rate can i use the concentration instead of density. Please answer it my simulations are pending due to this point. nOr if there any other way to calculate the mass flow rate of the discrete phase.nThank you .n -

Forum ModeratorFor DPM you need the particle mass, not the concentration. So, if you know that you have a 150 micro-g per m3 of air, and you know the air flow (20m/s * inlet area) you know the DPM mass. n
