How to measure inductance of a transformer core?

Hello, I am following a guide from Workshop 7.1: Transformer Example, Eddy Current 2D Model: No Load Analysis, version 17.0.

How can I measure inductance/magnetizing inductance of this model? I tried exploring User Defined Solution but I could not figure out how to define a solution. Please advice! Thank you in advance!

Hi, @icj96,nFirst, you need to define a matrix calculation before running the analysis. Right click parameter in the history tree, choose matrix, tick all the current. nAfter the finished analyzing, right click result-->solution data, a window will pop up. Choose the matrix tab, and select R,L. Self inductance and mutual inductance will appear. n

Hello icellb1,nThank you for your reply. Apologies for the late reply, was busy with my examinations. nI did a simulation to measure inductance of the core. Followed your instructions to obtain R,L via the matrix tab. I used the inductance formula, L=[(N^2)(Ae)(Ur)(Uo)]/Le to verify with my simulated L results but the value do not tally. N=10, Ae=4x10^-4 m^2, Le=0.4m, Ur=3300, Uo=4pix10^-7. Unsure if I have did it correctly, are you able to verify if my simulations was done proper? Thank you in advance!nn
