SubscriberHello,nI would like to generate a random velocity (restricted in magnitude between two values, specifically 0 and 80 m/s) at an inlet boundary for a LES. I'm unsure how to implement this in CFX and was wondering if there is a method to generate a random number or use a subroutine. Any advice on the matter would be much appreciated.nThank youn -

Ansys EmployeeHello, nDo you have any basis for generating this random inlet velocity?nI would recommend using unsteady values from a separate LES simulation, may be a periodic one like a simple pipe flow. nThere should be a way to generate random numbers using USER Fortran.nAn example can be found here. This is an inbuilt random number generator in CFX.nI hope this helps.nRegards,nSuryan -
