Does ANSYS solver calculates strain based on initial length of element/node or instantaneous length?

My query is if for example, I use 10 substeps within my static structural solver and I would therefore be able to get strains for my structure at each and every substep after solution. But these strains for each substep are caculated based upon the initial length of the element (or nodes) or the instantaneous length between substeps?n
