SubscriberHello everyone,nIf suppose, I have modelled only a half portion due to symmetry, for turbulent modelling of a pipe, then what will be the effect on the skin friction coefficient..? Will it be half ?? nOr anyone please suggest me that in the post processing of fluent, how should I get the Value of Skin friction coefficient..!!nPlease help me out with the proper steps...!! nThank and Regardsn -

Ansys Employeeyou are correct, it will be half of the full pipe. The skin friction coeff. is the wall-shear stress scaled by the dynamic pressure. Since you model 1/2 pipe, tau_wall will 1/2 of the full pipe value. The dynamic pressure will be the same in the full or 1/2 pipen -

Ansys Employeealso refer to Sec. 41.5.1. Generating a Force, Moment, or Center of Pressure Report of the Fluent User Guide and Sec. 30.2.1. Computing Forces, Moments, and the Center of Pressure of the Fluent Theory guide for more details on reporting forces on the boundaries. Reported viscous coefficients will be your skin friction coeff. Remember you need to define correct reference values of density and velocity in the Reference Valuesn -

SubscriberThis will really help me a lot sir !!nI really appreciate it..!!nSir, can you please help me little more !! nFor the calculation of nusselt number of the base fluid or nano fluid flowing through the pipe, can we directly add the additional file quantities from the option available just above the run calculation button, in which surface nusselt number is given..!! nIs it the write way to calculate the Nusselt number of fluid ?? If not, please suggest me suitable method sir. I am working on nano fluid simulation using single phase approach..nAny reference material will be of great help to me..!!nThanks & Regards...!!n -

SubscriberHello Everyone, I am new to this forum. I was looking into skin friction coefficient issues. I am doing steady analysis of an airfoil using Transition SST model. I did meshing in ICEM with yplus less than 1. I am obtaining skin friction coefficient from plot-wall flux-skin friction coefficient. But the coefficient does not matches with the literature data. My lift and drag coefficients are in good match with experimental values.nWhat may be the issue with skin friction coefficient?. Am I plotting it the wright way? Kindly help accordingly. Thank you very much.n
