too many nodes, unable to reduce

      Hi all,

How can i reduce the number of nodes/elements for this model? I am using a 400mm element size. I tried to increase the element size further but the number of nodes did not change anymore.

It seems strange to me that your maximum domain extent is ~470 mm, however, you are getting a reasonably fine mesh with an element size equal to 400 mm!nThat being said, go to body sizing and change the element size from there. That would help. Here's a tutorial for the same.nn

In your other discussion, I advised you to do a shell model on the outer surface. What happened to that approach?n/forum/discussion/19772/error-when-generating-mesh#latestn

nThe previous shell model did not work as this STL file came as 1 surface instead of inside/outside surfaces.nnI tried body sizing too. It did not change the number of nodes.nI was wondering about the element size too. Any other suggestions?.Thanks all.n
