Hi,nBased on the third picture, I am unable to understand which parts failed to mesh. You said there are three parts - 1. beam 2. cables and 3. plates. Which of these failed to mesh? Once we know which of the geometries is causing the issue, we can probe further to see what region is causing the problem.nSain

nhi sdeogeka,nI found the problematic part of the assembly. It's the cable, you can see in the next images.nI already tried to build the cable by simplifying the geometry for line segments instead of a continuous parabola and was unsuccessful.nShould I look for another way to dictate geometry for Ansys?nMaybe to solve this, do I need to add APDL commands to change the element type?.nnThanks a lot for the help!! n

Try meshing the cable first, or create the geometry so the cables are in a separate part. Basically, you have a coarse mesh in the beam and that makes it impossible to mesh the smaller cable volumes without squashing the cells too much. n

Rob,nTo mesh the cables first, do I need to separate the geometries or do I have to order Ansys to generate one before the other, without actually separating the assembly?nOr I create two geometries - one with the cables and anchor plates and the other with just the beam with the respective holes. And after generating the mesh for each one, should I merge them?nBest regards,nAiman n

No, just clear the mesh. Select the cable(s) body and right click mesh selected objects. That'll give a good mesh on the cable. Then mesh the rest of the model. Note, the cell count may get quite high so you may need to rethink the approach if you're using a student licence. n
