AdministratorIn systems theory, a system or a process is in a steady state if the variables (called state variables) which define the behavior of the system or the process are unchanging in time.

Ansys EmployeeTo add to @kremella 's response...Certain unsteady processes can also be approximated as steady ones. For example if the variation if the variables over time is small a process can be assumed to be steady state.Â
Under this assumption the time derivative in the governing equations can be neglected and the analysis is simplified.
