Ansys EmployeeThe frequency at which a body vibrates without any driving or damping force is defined as natural frequency. The natural frequency of a system depends on it's mass and stiffness.

Ansys EmployeeThe tuning fork would be a good example. When someone hits a table with the tuning fork, the fork would start emit a sound. That sound is the fork natural vibration frequency, and it is used to tune instruments, since the fork would always emit the same sound at the same frequency.
