i split volume into five body and my setting in the below picture.

then my min element quality and max skewness value is terrible

can suggest me what setting more suitable this case

      1. I would use either sweep or multizone not hex dominant

      2. I would split the bodies as shown in image below with red lines:

Ansys staff can not download images/files on the student portal, so if you want to reach a larger audience to get answers from, please insert the images inline describing your problem. You can also upload the model to the drive (if it can not be uploaded in the attachments) and give a link here for other members of the community to look at.

1, I split body into 11 part and open share to topology.

      2. i use multizone and select two cylinder

      3. use edge size:number of division

Then, mesh it but the bottom plate can't mesh

      The error information attach below

I show the problematic geometry in below picture

thank you for always explaining patiently.

I recommend you change the shape of the flat part at the bottom so it is not tangent to the large cylinder that is above it. That spike shape on the surface inevitably leads to poor element shapes or meshing problems as you can see. I recommend you move the end of the flat a short distance to the left to eliminate the tangent condition and do the same at the other end.

I use your recommend method and it not have tangent problem.

but have the one information attach below. Then,i have mesh quality problem, element quality min:2.27e-3 , average:0.475,skewness max:0.99995 ,average:0.1834. I want to improve it

How can I attach file ,i don't see the option can attach file.

      thank you very much.

      Hi Aniket

Your method split body as red line. Then,Are you split flat and cylinder?

I watch many tutorial and not watch similar about split the inner cylinder  and outer cylinder. Can you describe how to split it.

      Thank you very much.

Here are the directions for attaching. The Attach button only appears AFTER you post your reply.

Note that ANSYS staff are not permitted to download attachments, so attaching your archive is only useful if a non-ANSYS member takes an interest in opening your archive and offering advice.

You have done a good job inserting images so that ANSYS staff can advise you based on what they can see in your post.

This is my file. Can you give me some suggestion or you also can't download file.

      Thank you very much.

Instead of using Multizone try with the Sweep method and see if that helps.

and As peteroznewman mentioned, we are not allowed to download files. so can't work on your actual model, but can only give suggestions.

To get rid of the worst quality elements in the bottom part, you will need to either refine the mesh a lot or get rid of the almost tangency as Peter has mentioned. For the OGrid that you are cutting, I would use it as a last resort if default mesh with the sweep is too bad. I would first check the strategy that I mentioned in my first response. You can cut the bodies using cylindrical faces and arbitrary planes, right? Note I am not asking to split face using lines, I am asking to split bodies using surfaces.
