SubscriberHey all,
I am trying to perform a modal analysis on a large structure of plates and beams, for which I use a node merge to connect the meshes of the beams and plates together in the nodes. The resulting mesh has 26983 nodes and just under 30000 elements, so it should not exceed the numerical size limits of the student version.
However, when I run the analysis the solver fails with following fatal error:
"
Slave Process Output File .file1.out:
Â
 *** FATAL ***                          CP =      0.594  TIME= 214:06
Node number 37715 out of range [0,number-of-nodes]                    Â
 "
This should not be possible. On top of this, when I search for this node number in the mesh, there is no such node found.Â
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
PS: I would attach the document but am under a rather strict NDA, very sorry about that.

Ansys EmployeeHello,Â
Can you try this. In Mechanical, right click on Geometry and select Update from Source. After the update completes, the solver will run if the mesh is below the limit.
For more information, please refer to the thread below.Â

Thanks,
