Bonded vs rivit beam connection in sandwich plate

      Hello

I m trying to simulate a curregated sandwich plate to a local patch load in 2 ways

      1. making all the connections as bonded to see ideal analysis
      2. Implemented a large number of rivits (30mm pitch ) than plate is 500mm long as a deformable beam connection and frictionless connection between plates

my intuition is that the first one should deflect less but the results are that it deflects more by 0.5 mm then the riveted one 4.5 vs 5 mm

can any body tell me what can cause this or is it ok ?

Please show some images of the sandwich plate, how it is supported, how it is loaded, where you are measuring the deformation.

Show where it has bonded contact in the one model and where the rivets are in the other model.  Show the mesh.
