SubscriberHi
I am simulating dense 100 micron particles in water pipe flow and with the DRW ON they are almost uniformly distributed in the pipe. But the literature shows that 100 micron particles settle mostly. Am I using any wrong numerics settings or DRW? My settings are: Node based averaging -ON, Avg DPM Source terms-ON, Dynamic interaction range-ON, Random Eddy lifetime-ON, Time scale constant=0.3 (using RSM). How can i determine what settings are best for my model?? I think the DRW is overpredicting suspension of particles. thanks for any suggestions.

SubscriberGravity is ON from the General Tab in -ve Y dir. I hope this turns ON gravity on both particle and fluid. Pipe length = 4m. Yes near wall mesh is very refined, y+<1. Also without DRW the particles show settling along the pipe lenght but when I turn DRW ON it does not show settling, so I am wondering whether the DRW model is doing something unrealistic in this case? Can you please suggest something. Particle density =2500 in water.
