      Hello everybody,

I'm currently in the process of completing some transient simulations in ansys fluent 2025R2. I'm using the University's HPC for those simulations and i need the output to be in the legacy format (.dat) rather than the CFF (.dat.h5) my journal file is as shown bellow. Can anyone help?

      file/set-batch-options , , yes ,

      file/read-case NAME.cas.h5 yes
      file/read-data NAME_result.dat.h5

      solve/set/data-sampling yes 1 yes yes

      file/auto-save/root-name "NAME-%n"
      file/auto-save/data-frequency 50
      file/auto-save/retain-most-recent-files no

      solve/set/time-step 0.001
      solve/report-files/list

      solve/dual-time-iterate 883 20

      file/write-case-data NAME_final.cas
      exit
      yes

First off, always use the first / so /file  otherwise you're executing the command from whichever menu level Fluent's in. Try:

      /preferences/general/default-ioformat legacy
