SubscriberHi there
I am using a 2D steady state thermal, I applied linear periodic linear symmetry to the geometry and I am not able to generate the mesh without the following error:
The meshing algorithm cannot find matching topology. Please verify the topology and the position as well as the orientation of any associated coordinate systems.

AdministratorPlease take a look at this video and see if this resolves your issue. Here, they are setting up a cyclic symmetry model in Mechanical. You set-up should be very similar.

Let me know if this helps.
Thanks.

SubscriberThank you I watched to video.
I apply linear periodic symmetry to the right and left edges because I have a 2D geometry, I needed to add sizing because I have different parts, I also added a coordinate system in the top of the geometry, still got the same error.

AdministratorIt seems like there is some inconsistency with the two edges. Are they of the same length? Are they along a major coordinate direction?
Thank you.

Subscriberyeah they have the same length. How can I check the major coordinate direction please?

Forum ModeratorChange to box select, change selection filter to vertices and carefully select one side and notice the number of vertices. Now do the same on the other side. Do you see the same number of vertices on both sides?
If yes, carefully check the edge lengths. those should be exactly the same. If they are not correct the geometry in Geometry editor (SpaceClaim or DesignModeler)

Forum ModeratorAlso, may be you can right click on error message and see if there is any "show problematic geometry" option there.

SubscriberI am trying to do mesh these bodies there is always an error regarding the meshing while performing axisymmetric axis can anybody help me with it what i ca do below is the model nMesher failed to mesh topological edges. nOne or more entities failed to mesh. The mesh of the bodies containing these entities may not be up-to-date. However, meshing might be successful on the other entities.nA mesh could not be generated using the current meshing options and settings.nI have tried all above methods please do help me nI am providing below cad file and ansys file i want to do axisymmetric on the body but i am unable to mesh after applying symmetry nn
