Tied contact failed(DYNAMIC_RELAXATION in the total retart ) Need Advice

      Hello everyone,

      I am encountering an issue with tied contacts during a total restart analysis for springback calculation and would appreciate some advice. (1)First analysis  A steel formwork falls  onto the rock,used shell element: and used TIED_SHELL_EDGE_TO_SURFACE_BEAM_OFFSET and TIED_SHELL_EDGE_TO_SURFACE_BEAM_OFFSET:
      calculation in this step is normal,and tied contact works fine: (2)total start used CONTROL_DYNAMIC_RELAXATION keyword to calculate the springback but all tied contact was failed:
      we could see that penetration occurred between the parts.  Has anyone encountered a similar issue? Any suggestions on what parameters I should check or adjust would be greatly appreciated.

      HI

      i would use the inbuilt dynamic relaxtaion not the one from keyword maanger - so use native as much as possible - also not sure what you are doing (1 pre tension frame -> 2 drop it).

      Hard to help here so if you are supported send to your local partner or open up a support ticket in Ansys ACSS portal.

      All the best

        I want to calculate the residual stress in an object after a drop impact — specifically, the stress that remains under gravity once the vibrations have settled.;
        however,the but inbuilt dynamic relaxtaion cannot be set in total restart(in workbench)

      Hi

      You must transfer all contacts to other L system also (since you defined them as keywords they are only valid for system K). Also

      There is a WB restart system that can be used.

      I would then run explicit first and then implicit (+damping) to let the structure settle.

       Use implicit and explicit or the other way around solver during specified times during the analysis
      â–ª Set IMFLAG = -LCID on *CONTROL_IMPLICIT_GENERAL
      â–ª lcid points =1 -> implicit and points=0 -> explicit analysis

      Also use native options as much, as keyword managers (certain keywords) can be beta.

      Perhaps others have some other ideas, wait for their comment (I do not have any more feedback here).
