SubscriberHi everyone,
I'm new in Fluent enviroment and I'm trying to analize an external flow in a truck but I don't know what is the problem here.
I created a surface mesh and in the console panel says it has a maximum Skewness of 0.79, but, when I analize the whole quality of the surface mesh it says that I have a skewness of 1.
Could the problem be the overlapping of the solids with the enclosure that I have created in order to create a mesh refinement (Body of Influence)? Because I don't think it's necessary to automatically create those diagonal lines in the mesh...

Ansys EmployeeHello,Â
Are you using Shared topology?

SubscriberNo, I'm not using it.
I didn't know if it was necessary, but I didn't want to use it because when I tryed with:
1) It modifies the gometry as it can be seen in the first picture.
2) It merges the zones when I add a local sizing as it can be seen in the second picture.
3) It doesn't even generate the surface mesh when I click on it...
I'm pretty confused, I hope someone can guide me in this trouble.
Regards,
Julián

Ansys Employeeas you have mentioned you have created the surface mesh.Â
when you calculate skewness, you have selected all boundary zones. it selects all faceted data behind surface mesh as well. this faceted data has skewness of 1.Â
go to 'outline view - mesh objects - right click - summary'Â
this will show you the skewness of your surface mesh.Â
if it is 0.79. then you can generate volume mesh.Â

Keyur

SubscriberThank you for your help, I appreciate it.
I have only one more question. What is that faceted data that you mention, and why it has a skewness of 1??
Regards,
Julián.
