I looked at the explanation and tutorials. I found the tutorials use same model structure for both contact base and interface base model, which makes me confuse: what is the difference between contact base and interface base? Could u give some example for understanding? Also, for my case, I put a silicon cube on adhesive tape and want to know how much force will pill the cube off. I know the adhesive strength of the tape.

In short words, the contact-based cohesive model incorporates the cohesive law into the contact behavior, while the interface based approach inserts zero-thickness cohesive elements between interfaces.

In your case, both ways should work.
