access data points in DOE and make xy plot for each DOE point automatically

      Hello everybody,

I'm simulating a turbulent flow over a flat plate with a small bump. I'm using DesignModeler, mesher, Fluent and I  have some geometric parameters for the bump that I want to optimize in order to achieve a drag reduction on the flat plate. I want to plot the wall shear stress along a line on the flat plate at each design point in the DOE table automatically and be able to access each design point in the table to check the results an postprocess some of the DOE points.

Is there anybody who could help me?

      I have Ansys student 2020R1

Thank you in advance and kind regards

      Hello,

When you setting up the simulation in Ansys Fluent, you can select the output parameter as wall shear stress long a line. You can do so in "Report Definitions". After the parameters are simulated, you can access the charts which can be seen in the left side of the screen when the "parameter set" tab is open.

      Hello Rahul,

thank you for the reply. Please, could you explain me the complete procedure starting from the menu "Report definitions"?

      Thank you in advance. Regards

PS I want to access a xy chart (wall shear vs x coordinate) for each DOE point.

Go to the report definitions tab, change the variable to wall shear stress and select the surface that you want, in your case, it is a line. Also check the output parameter option which can be found at the bottom left of the window.

Thanks Rahul, but still I can't find what you say: from the report definition tab I find these options and I can't find how to plot it long a line. Thanks again.

      Regards, Kevin

      Hi Kevin,

You first have to create a line. You can do so by clicking on the "Results" tab in the ribbon, Under "Surfaces", click on "Create" dropdown and choose "Line/Rake" and enter the co-ordinates for the line.
