SubscriberIs it possible to conduct a damped modal analysis or defined mode-based damping ratio based on the viscoelastic properties of a material (prony series terms).  There will be a duplicate question on the Ansys mechanical forum but it is NOT duplicate.  I am asking this question for both LS-Dyna and MAPDL.Â

Ansys EmployeeHi,Â
In my understanding, assigning mode-based damping ratios in LS-DYNA for viscoelastic materials is limited; rather, the material's Prony series terms govern the damping behavior across all modes as part of the constitutive response.Â
Cheers, Ram
