SubscriberHello, I want to inquire about how to do a damped modal analysis for a part that's made from a viscoelastic material (elastic + prony series terms).
Viscoelastic material has an inherent frequency dependent damping so the question is really about how I can properly define mode dependent damping ratio from these prony series terms? If this thought process is incorrect, how else can we do this?

Hi Dennis
As far as I know this can only be used with full harmonic analysis.
The viscoelastic model is a material input (you might need to measure these constants), and then input the material data
All the best
