SubscriberHi,
As stated in the title, it seems sometimes when I open a project with previously stored simulation results, the software cannot access the data, which is reflected as the solution panel being greyed out. Attached are the pictures of the opened project and information on the corresponding result folder.
The same incident has happens a couple of times in the last few years.
Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum.
Please note that the results folder is common to all the designs in the project. So, the results folder is named with the project name.
In your case, it is possible that the highlighted design is not yet solved or the solution results were invalidated due to a change in the setup. Please verfiy once.
Best regards,
Praneeth,

Hi,
Thank you for the response. I only showed the screenshot for one design but actually all designs listed under the project manager have the solution panel greyed out. In addition, I can confirm the particular design was solved for over one hundred parametric sweeps. And I did not change the setup that will invalidate the results.
Below are additional images for your reference. The first one shows another design without results but the corresponding results folder in the second picture shows it carries almost 10 GB of data. I think if the solutions have been invalidated, then the corresponding results folder should be empty as well. This is not the case as shown by the screenshot. If the solutions are not complete yet, as least we should be able to monitor the progress of solving, which is also not available as shown by the screenshot at the bottom.
Are you able to find similar reports of this issue in the past? It has happened to both my colleague and myself.
Thank you.

Ansys EmployeeHi,
Do you observe the same behaviour for all your models or is it only particular to this model?
Also, from the screenshots of the solution data, the profile tab is empty which is wierd despite having huge data under results folder. Did you know there is a patch for the 2023 R2 version? Please install it and check if it resolves the issue.
I have verifeid at my end on the said version and do not see any issue for the solved models.
Best regards,
Praneeth. -

SubscriberHi,
I assume you meant different project files. I did not observe this issue for all projects. Over the years, it happened a few times when I tried to open a project with designs that have saved results. Just this week, the issue happened twice for two different projects, and I had to make copies of the project files and resimulate them (because the data from the original files are still there, I don't want to restart and overwrite them).
Regarding the patch, where should I find the patch files? I did a quick search but could not find the resources. In addition, since one of the two incidents mentioned above happened with the 2025 R1 version, it seems this issue has not been resolved yet.
Thank you.
