Reinforced concrete, line body connection

I was trying to insert line body as stirrups to simulate a reinforced concrete block. I am doing that first in transient thermal then transient structural to analysis the thermal effect of the concrete block under heated.
The line bodies are created inside the concrete block body. Images below are the geometry showing and not showing concrete body.
However, it seems Ansys doesn't automatically connect line bodies and the solid bodies for me. So right now the temperature does not transfer from concrete to the line bodies. Also, the mesh of the line bodies looks weird. I assigned the circular cross section to it but it seems still just a line.
