Stress in a Rigid Body in the Motion Module

      Hello everyone. Please tell me.
I'm solving this in the Workbench Motion Module.
If all the bodies are rigid, when solving a gear train, will I be able to evaluate the condition of the teeth in the results? It's also impossible to evaluate plastic deformation.

I can specify friction between rigid bodies in the settings. Will it be taken into account in the calculations?
It's very important to hear your professional opinion. Thank you.

      Hi,

With rigid bodies you cannot calculate stress and strains; these results are for flexible bodies. Yes, friction will be taken into account. You can use Motion Post to calculate gear-related results like tooth contact pressure; please check out the below documentation link for that.

Sir, I read a post that even if all bodies are rigid, they can still be examined in Motion Post and their stress levels checked. Isn't that true?
Actually, I'd prefer to work in Workbench. If Motion Post can't examine rigid bodies the same way it can in Workbench, then I'll have to stick with deformable bodies in Workbench.

      Hi,

Rigid bodies don't deform, so you will not get stress or strain results for rigid bodies anywhere.
