SubscriberHello,
Â
I have a few questions regarding Ansys CFX post function calculator:
1-i don't know why when i use it to verify my boundary's area (Â Â area()@boundary), it gives me a smaller value than the one measured in spaceclaimÂ
2-is there any way to calculate the flow (m3/s) in a pipe in CFD-post? (in the solver, i was able to derive it from the P-mass boundary flow monitor, by dividing the value in kg/s by the water density)
What i usually do is: flow through inlet = inlet velocity (as entered in cfx-pre) x area (as measured in spaceclaim)
but my result is slightly different from the function calculator's results:
areaAve(Velocity)@boundary*area()@boundary
Â
Thanks in advance

Forum ModeratorYou need to be careful with the average: check whether you used mass or area averaging.Â
Also if your mesh is very coarse the surface area may be different to that reported in SpaceClaim as you'll have faceted off some of the area.Â
