SubscriberHello, we were sponsored licenses for the first time in team history this year and we're sent instructions. We were able to set up the license portal, enable licenses, download the license file, but we are now hung up on linking the license file with the server and the local software. The license manager installed on our machine is not providing the server info to attach the license to, and other solutions are not working.

Ansys EmployeeHello,
To get servername: open a command prompt on the license server and type ‘hostname'To configure the license server in the client machine, follow the steps below:
- Go to Start> Ansys 202x Rx> ANSYS Licensing Settings 202xRx (Right click and “Run as Administrator”)
- Go to Flexnet Publisher, enter the port number (1055 is the default) and license server name in the required fields and hit Test.
- A green check will be shown, which means you are connected to this license server. Click Save.
I hope this helps,
Mrunali.

Forum ModeratorHi hk3583,
Please make sure the license server has TCP firewall exceptions for the "lmgrd" and "ansyslmd" processes.
If Windows, these are:
"C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\licensing\winx64\lmgrd.exe"
"C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\Shared Files\licensing\winx64\ansyslmd.exe"
If Linux, please let me know and I can assist with setting static ports for each - if needed.To setup the clients, you could do so by running the:
/ \licensingclient\winx64\LicensingSettings.exe
ex: "C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v252\licensingclient\winx64\LicensingSettings.exe"Another method you can setup clients is by setting environment variables on the client machine(s):
ANSYSLMD_LICENSE_FILE=1055@LicenseServerName
ANS_FLEXLM_DISABLE_DEFLICPATH=1
Please let me know if this resolves the issue.
thanks
Randy
