Convergence error in modal analysis

This model requires more scratch space than available. ANSYS has
currently allocated 4725 MB and was not able to allocate an additional
1502 MB in order to proceed. Please increase the virtual memory on
your system and/or increase the workspace memory and rerun ANSYS.
      Problem terminated.
Please can you help with this error, I am unable to solve modal and Harmonic analysis and also tried adding virtual memory, but also not working

Hello, this is likely an indication that your model required more RAM than you have available and it's now using your hard drive spaces.   That's what virtual memory is but it is generally a very bad idea to solve out of core.

In a modal anlaysis, the more modes you request and the more elements you have, the larger the RAM requirement.   the different methods of modal anlaysis (default is block lanzos i believe in mech) has specific memory requirement as well.

Lower your # of modes or reduce your mesh count would resolve the problem.   This problem is very common in larger structure linear dynamic analysis where you have to request N number of modes to cover a specific range of frequencies required for the model and when the structure is big, you run into this problem.

      Hope this helps.
