      Hi,

      Does odb++ or IPC-2581 file exported from KICAD 9 contains all the required files needed for Thermal analysis of a PCB in SIwave and Icepack?

      Any suggestions would be of great help.

      Thanking in advance.

      AEDT does not support ECAD data exported from KICAD.

      ODB++ is supported by the following software.
      Altium Designer     R10 and later
      Mentor Expedition   EE7.9.1 and later
      Mentor PADS         9.4 and later (v7 and v8 ODB++)
      Zuken Cadstar       12.1 and later

      IPC2581 is supported when exporting from Cadence SPB 17.4 or later.

      Furthermore, I tried importing IPC-2581 file into SIwave, which I exported from KICAD 9.0.3. The result of which is attached. However, it doesnt read any passive components of my design. Can DC IR analysis be done without this file?

      your suggestion will be of great help. Thank you

      This is a DCIR analysis without any passive components mounted. Nets that are not connected by R or L are treated as having no continuity. If you want to analyze the characteristics of passive components as well, please set up passive components in SIwave.
