residuals in combustion simulation

  please let me know if this kind of residual plot showing fluctuations good... when to consider the solution to converge if such fluctuations keep on going....species transport with eddy dissipation concept and standard k-epsilon turbulence model with no convergence criteria and second order upwind scheme with under relaxation factor between 0.8 and 0.9

  the jumps in between are due to change from first order to second order scheme.
  
  Also i want to know whether its necessary to patch to start ignition. in my case the combustion starts without patching. its a premixed H2-air combustion using species transport.
