Edge sizing not affecting all faces?

      Hi,

I am attempting to mesh a single fin of a heat sink for a conjugate heat transfer simulation. I want the mesh in the z-direction to be finer than in the x and y, and I have put edge sizing on all the edges in the z direction. However, only the vertical faces have a uniform fine mesh, and the horizontal faces just have their ends refined. I have tried to use face meshing but the mesher doesn't ever complete, which I think may be because the face is a fluid-solid interface

Is there a way around this? I need a finer mesh in this direction to capture the thermal boundary layer. I am using a Multizone mesh.

      Cheers

That looks like the edge sizing is conflicting with another size you've set somewhere. It also suggests that the two volumes aren't connected in the CAD.

I have body sizing on, should I remove that and just use the sizing option in the mesh outline?

If it's set to "hard" change the body sizing to "soft" and check the other global sizing settings.
