SubscriberHi,
I am attempting to mesh a single fin of a heat sink for a conjugate heat transfer simulation. I want the mesh in the z-direction to be finer than in the x and y, and I have put edge sizing on all the edges in the z direction. However, only the vertical faces have a uniform fine mesh, and the horizontal faces just have their ends refined. I have tried to use face meshing but the mesher doesn't ever complete, which I think may be because the face is a fluid-solid interface
Is there a way around this? I need a finer mesh in this direction to capture the thermal boundary layer. I am using a Multizone mesh.

Cheers

Forum ModeratorThat looks like the edge sizing is conflicting with another size you've set somewhere. It also suggests that the two volumes aren't connected in the CAD.Â

SubscriberI have body sizing on, should I remove that and just use the sizing option in the mesh outline? -

Forum ModeratorIf it's set to "hard" change the body sizing to "soft" and check the other global sizing settings.Â
