Please help me with this error. I am modelling impact on the concrete target and I face this error more often. Please tell me how to fix this issue parmanently.
Abort(671754510) on node 145 (rank 145 in comm 0): Fatal error in PMPI_Wait: Message truncated, error stack: PMPI_Wait(206): MPI_Wait(request=0x7ffe9815ef5c, status=0x1a5d3160) failed MPIR_Wait(106): (unknown)(): Message truncated

Also please let me know what parameters in the contact card is sue ful in detecting the penetration because when I refine the mesh size it just fasils to detect the penetration.

there's really not enough information to know what happened.   However, if your process terminated, there are steps you can maybe do to take a closer look

      1) check closer in your d3hps file or messag file.

      2) change your database_binary_d3plot data rate to something insanely small and change the termination cycle to around the time your job terminated.   this will allow you to observe the results close and upt ot the point of failure to see if you have stability issues or other issues

      3) contact penetration can be ignored in the control_contact card (and therefore turned on or turned off with additional message).   check the control_contact card closely to find out how (like the IGNORE parameter, among others).

Again, I am proposing actions without understanding the problem but these are the things I would try if I saw this error message without any other info.

Do you get this error immediately after submitting the run or sometime later during the analysis? Have you checked all mes00* files for any error? Have you tried a new version of ls-dyna and MPI (if using intel mpi)? If you're running the job on a cluster, please check if there are any log files with stdout from the job, it may have better traceback output. For the contact issue, are you using shells or solids? If its shells, try increasing the contact shell thickness in card 3 of *contact or if its solids, please set some value for SLDTHK (maybe 1/10th of solid element size). You can also try scaling up the contact stiffness or switch to soft=2 segment-based contact.
