SubscriberHello everyone,
I’m designing a microstrip-based sensor intended to detect sugar concentration in liquids by monitoring the shift in resonance frequency caused by changes in permittivity.
In my HFSS simulation, I included both the container and the liquid (modeled with different permittivity values). However, when I change the permittivity of the liquid inside the container, the resonance frequency does not shift as expected.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I’m wondering:
Is there a specific simulation setting I may be missing (e.g., boundary conditions, mesh resolution, material assignment)?
Could it be that the sensor design itself is not sensitive enough to detect the variation?
Should the container be modeled in a particular way (e.g., as vacuum, dielectric, or PEC) to avoid masking the response?
Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
