SubscriberHi,
I get a warning saying that the number of integration points through the thickness for my part with shell 181 is changed from 3 to 5. This is regardless if I use full or reduced integration. I assume that a 181 element with full integration have 4 integration points in the plane of the element, so that full integration gives 4x5 = 20 integration points per element? Correct? And that the use of reduced integration only have 1 integration point in each plane, giving 1x5=5 integration points per element?
Have I understood it correctly that with the use of layered section, I can with one element through the thickness simulate, for instance, 3Â layers with various material properties instead of actually re-meshing and having three elements through the thickness?
And with the use of three layers, each having 5 int-points through the thickness and with full integration, that would give me an element with 3x4x5=60 integration points?
Thanks.
