SubscriberDear all,
I’m currently facing an issue with LS-DYNA that’s driving me a bit crazy.
I’m running an impact simulation on a BCC lattice structure. When I run a standard simulation (without using parameters), the results are as expected. However, when I perform a parametric study—under identical conditions—the contact force I obtain is approximately 50% lower than in the non-parametric case.
To be clear: I’m running two simulations in two separate files. One without parameters, and one using parameters. All settings are identical. It’s important to note that the contact force is crucial for my analysis. In my opinion, this significant reduction might be related to how LS-DYNA handles contact during geometry updates—perhaps it’s interpreting something in the parametric setup that causes this 50% drop.Â
Do you have any suggestions or feedback that could help me figure this out?
Best regards,
Giuseppe

Ansys EmployeeHiÂ
I suppose there's a lot to consider here; a bit of debugging should help.Â
I recommend you run the " identical conditions case" separately and inspect the difference made in the input file defined by the parametric method.Â
If unsure, you can post your model and someone apart than Ansys employees should provide you with some suggestions.Â
Cheers, RamÂ

SubscriberDear Ram,Â
Thank you for your kind response.Â
May you tell me where to get the input file?Â
Thank you.Â
Best regards,Â
