How to apply force on the center of mass?

      Hi there,

I need to define a force on the center of solid body to simulate the effect of weight. The standard earth gravity includes all bodies. Can I apply the force on all surfaces of my solid body to get the weight force on the center of the mass? are there other options?

Can you please explain your question in some more details? Why does weight act on selective bodies and not on all of the bodies?

You can scope a remote force acting through the CG of the body, which is scoped to all faces of the body to approximate this, but as I said it would be better to know your requirement in more detail.

      Thank you for your reply

I am not sure about acting remote force. In this case, I need to select all the faces of the body.

I need to know what is the maximum principal stress in all bodies, when the weight of the single body is applied and compare the results without acting this force. For this purpose, I sliced my single part in center of mass components to get the vertex as the CG Point.  In this case I can now select the point as CG of the body and apply weight force on this point in the direction of gravity.

what do you think about my solution?

Please use the Insert Image button to include a sketch or snapshot image of the system you have where you want to evaluate the results with the weight of a body.

Why don't you just create a frictional contact between the body and the structure and turn on gravity?

I have to apply one force on several surface of these two holding bars. for each simulation will acts the force just on one surface. As I need to rotate all bodies to apply this force on the other side of the holding bars, I have to define the weight as a parameter to be able to change the direction in + and -. I hope, that I could explain clearly.

Thank you for the image. Now describe in much greater detail what causes a force to be applied to those faces. Why does the force reverse? Why does the force need to be applied to different faces?  What do you mean you need to rotate all bodies to apply this force to the other side?  Do you mean rotate the view of the bodies?

The force is the resultat milling force acting on holding bars. I want to analyse the maximum principel stress on the body during acting this force on each side of both holding bars.
The force needs to be applied on different faces to compare the results. The results show me on which faces appear the biggest principel stress to avoid milling the holding bars from that faces. For example if the maximum principel stress will be bigger an the left face of the holding bar compared to oder faces, the holding bar will not be milled from that face. It's actually ma Simulation to finde the best way to cut off the holding bars during milling process. The both holding bars are milled from the raw material and are part of the mail body.
All bodies muss be rotated tu be able to apply the cutting force on the down sides of holding bars. I hope these infos could tell you what I mean exactly.
